  • What flatters my body shape?

Your body shape is the key defining factor in how clothes will rest on you, move on you, make you look good and feel good too.

Once you understand your body shape, you’ll have a better understanding of the types of clothes that will show off your best bits (and drawing attention away from the parts you’d like to keep under wraps).

You’ll have so many options and outfits to choose from that will give you the best scale, proportions and colouring to reflect your personality and lifestyle!

French designer Hubert de Givenchy said: “The dress must follow the body of a woman, not the body following the shape of the dress”. He was absolutely right. You’ve got to dress for the body you have now, not the one you want to have or are working towards. You can dress for that when you get there.

No matter what your body shape, the clothes have to reflect a balanced body. This means the shoulders and hips must be in line, give a defined bust, a curved bottom and a defined waist even with a tummy.

If an outfit can achieve all of these then it will definitely flatter your body shape, no matter how many other natural attributes you want to flaunt.

Every ensemble you look for, including business attire, wedding outfits, or casual clothes should meet these criteria. Whether it’s from a New York or Paris designer or not, if it doesn’t flatter your shape then back it goes.
